This project is the brainchild of Christopher Antoh Forsythe.  He was once a homeless child and was adopted by the late Mr. George Christopher Forsythe a Belfast Head teacher who brought him to live in Belfast, Northern Ireland where he developed interest in the local club Glentoran Football Club.  He approached Mr. Stafford Reynolds, Chairman of Glentoran Football Club in Belfast, Northern Ireland about the possibility of establishing Academy in Ghana to train street children with support of the club and the use of its name and it was agreed and hence he came to Sunyani where he was once a street child and established the Academy.

As a former street child, he observed that the fundamental thing that was lacking in the life of a street child was fun. Something to get up for in the morning, something lighthearted, nothing to do with the daily grind of finding a bed for the night, where their next meal is coming from, the demise of their general health and the tedious world of benefits.
